He Must Increase

This focus is what contributes to gaining a proper perspective on life. It's not all about you. It really isn't. It's about Him and you have the honor of being His representative. It's only natural for us to give thought about ourselves. (Rom. 12:3) But our ultimate focus is on Christ. He must increase! Friend, I hate to break it to you but someday you're going to pass away, people are going to be sad, some of them are going to go to your funeral, and then they're going to go to eat dinner somewhere that night and before you know it, they're scrolling and watching TV and texting and playing games as usual. That's just a fact of life.

So the 'you' that you are will best be spent drawing others to the Savior of the world! Now what are some possible specifics that can help us get there? May I suggest a Scripture memory plan? And no, I won't accept the "I'm too old excuse." Another possible specific could be joining a weekly small group. This is a great way to enjoy the journey together with others who are also just seeking to be more like Christ in their daily walk just as you are. This is where you begin to find fellowship with other believers so you don't feel all alone in your journey as a believer. "Fellowship?" Just a few fellows in one ship. All pulling in the same direction.

Perhaps another specific could be to take on a ministry in your church. Even if it's just a small part, it's a start in the direction of "increase" which is a must for all of us. Perhaps another option can be to begin to invest in a new believer who needs to know the basics. All you need is a short head start. Then just stay ahead week by week as you grow together. That's a great specific to build into your life. You get the picture. Now find that specific that will be an obvious indication of you gaining a better perspective on life. You have one week.
