Week #

Do you find yourself sometimes just feeling like no other person on the planet is fighting the battle you’re fighting? Do you ever feel as though there’s no way you can call yourself a Christian if this temptation keeps coming at you? Have you ever looked at someone else in church on a Sunday or in your small group and wondered… “Do they ever…?”  Read James 3:2 again.  “We all stumble.” Could it be any more clear? This is not a challenge to just wink at our sin and move on.  It is a challenge to remember Paul, yes, even the Paul of the N.T., saying “Wretched man that I am…” (Rom. 7:24).  It is also a challenge to remember that Satan is a liar and the Father of lies, and he is the accuser of the brethren.  So he loves to attack and accuse you.  It’s at this point that the “once for all” found twice in Hebrews is worth remembering as we rest in the forgiveness for all our sins in Christ Jesus.  Repent? Yes.  Bruised? Yes.  In the battle every day of your life? Yes.  Alone? Not a chance! The next time you take that glance around at the people in the church building, remember you are sitting with warriors.  You are soldiers joined together and you are not alone! Stand firm in your forgiveness and fight the good fight of faith, my friend.  What is a specific action you can take between now and the next 84?  Could it be something as simple as memorizing seven words… (The first part of James 3:2) to keep you from feeling all alone in the fight? “For we all stumble in many ways…”  “Our sins they are many; His mercy is more”.  MORE…
